Sam Ristich archive |
A new website dedicated to the life and work of naturalist Sam Ristich |
A new website dedicated to the life and work of naturalist Sam Ristich has been created by his musician,
filmmaker, and designer daughter Ruthie. The website
also includes info on the archive being organized by David Rose, an interview David conducted in 1998,
links to all the mycology clubs, conservation groups, and a link to the Sam Ristich Nature Trail.
The interactive 'share' page allows you to place an iconic marker anywhere on earth and write an
accompanying "Sam memory" to post for all to see. Please visit soon and share your stories!

Dave Fischer's AmericanMushrooms.com |
SVMS's own resident expert |
It is with great pleasure that I present americanmushrooms.com. This Website presents me with an opportunity to share with the general
public my fascination and delight with mushrooms, which are often referred to as "the higher fungi." It serves me as a forum to display
the results of my many years of studying and photographing these remarkable organisms. And it affords me an opportunity to play an
increasingly active role as a promoter, a "champion," of what some might thoughtlessly call "toadstools."
Site also contains guides to local edible fungi as well as some interesting galleries, and the ability to purchase his books and
services, of course.

For our next season of organizing adventuresome mushrooming excursions in exciting Mexico, we have organized
a new slate of tours, each offering unique travel, cultural and, of course, fungi experiences with expert
local bilingual mycologists. 2005 tours are in July, August and October.
