We were greeted with great weather for the foray.
No threats of thunderstorms,
Tornadoes or
Hurricanes.
Nor was it pouring rain.
Unfortunately, it had not rained for many days. Gil does not seem impressed by this, but at this foray he is finally off the witness protection program.
Hey Linda, where is your tag?
We got a quite a few new members.
And a new member that walks the woods with no shoes. Should we warn him that this used to be the site of Buterfingers Glass Company?
It was good to see all of long time members.
Despite the great weather we were prepared for rain.
And the field kitchen was ready to roll.
Lori helps sign everyone in.
As usual Roger provided coffee and Progy brought some breakfast, a soufflé of Guinea hen eggs with black trumpets and garlic
It was great to see some of the newer member's that joined at the spring foray.
Richard opens the foray with a little reminder to sign in and see Roger about your dues. Clay explained what each foray path was like.
"Go forth and collect those shrooms!"
Those heading for the top of the hill mount up.
Another group did the lower "Level" foray.
While the usual black trumpets did not make the show, we did find lobster's and some chanterelles.
This lobster is trying to quietly crawl away.
No so fast buddy, we got a basket for you.
Gil was unable hide on this foray.
But he keeps trying.
