It's a fine sunny (and warm) morning as folks start to arrive.
No rain, no snow, no 30-40 degree temperatures, just does not feel like a spring foray.
Gil's cottage is a great place to organize for this foray.
After looking over all the pictures from the foray, I wonder if Gil is involved in the witness relocation program. Note Gil behind the Fungi with the red hat.
Folks sign in and some snacks will show up soon.
We had a great turnout of over 30 forayer's (if that is even a word).
Here's the breakfast snacks. Looks like Progy's Guinea egg souffles with morels and leeks.
Of course Roger had his coffee maker going.
Can't top eating morels before looking for them.
More folks arrive every minute.
It's important for everyone to sign in, or face the wrath of Progy!
These folks signed in, now they are safe....
too late, blazing beams of death explode from Progy's eyes as another hapless soul fails to sign in.
With a large crowd formed, Progy goes over the plan for the foray.
We will cross the street and work the woods to either side of the creek...
for about 1/2 mile. Note you still can't see Gil's face...
and he is even holding a big mug up in from of his mug.
Off into the hopefully morel filled woods.
Some early finds. Gil presents his back again!
The walk varies between open woods and tight clumps of hard hack.
Most of the time the going is easy and level.
Keep looking everyone.
Hey that rock looks less than stable...
Yep, it was.
