A little closer.
As forayers returned, the table began to fill. Richard does some early sorting.
This is just a start.
Interest in the finds competes with...
The food! Among the delights were Krys brought Risotto pasta with Morels, Lark with a White chowder (recipe available on this site), Becca with salad, Fran with Cranberry bread.
John S. with Dunua salad, Wendell brought some of his heirloom tomatoes marinated and an Apple Crumb Cake. Ken treated us with smoked pork loin and dilled beans, the Youngs with cabbage salad, Anita Zelle brought zucchini bread.
Gil brought chanterelle provolone-prosciutto stuffed cherry peppers and Clay brought chanterelle-artichoke dip. As usual Roger brought his excellent wine and home made beer.
As you can see, no one went hungary.
And what better to do while having some great food, discuss and sort the fungal finds.
Clearly you can see Roger taking bribes to put people on the membership rolls. Well no, I guess they could just be paying their dues.
Still some food left!
After the great food, its time to look over the finds.
Some Cauliflower, Sparassis spathulata.
And Hens, Grifola fondosa.
A couple of toothed edibles (Hericium) and abortive entoloma (upper left)
Giant Puffball, Langermannia gigantea,
and its smaller cousins.
And que the general closeups of the days finds....
beep...
beep...
beep...
you know, beep...
one more time, beep...
see, no more beep.
