The foray starts with the usual "Roger Type" activities, collecting dues,
collecting changed member info,
and consuming coffee from the big urn that Roger brings. Nice mug Gil!
Of course there were snacks.
When is there not food at Linda's? Oh yea, when you show up a week before the foray and no ones home.
Empty specimen table lies ready for use.
Oh yea, don't forget to sign in.
You too on the right there.
Some folks brought fungi they had found before the foray.
Including some fine edibles.
One new member brought in bags of dried mushrooms for identification.
And there was the giant puffball brought by the Sweeneys, they kept it for weeks to show it at the foray.
Nice find!
As more folks arrive we close in on the time to push off into the woods.
Richard moves them on out.
Almost immediately hens are found.
Note the little one part way up the tree.
The good weather before the foray means lots to find in the woods.
Everyone begins to spread out.
Here's a fine collection.
Wide variety of ages too.
Any guesses?
A large find of tippler's bane (Coprinus atramentarius) were found. This was only one of the clusters, all were very fresh.
Toward the end many groups of honeys (Armillaria mellea) were found.
