The morning started out with down pours north of the foray site, and we had some rain on the site until 10am, then it cleared out.
Clay had large tarps up and no one got wet.... until we started walking in the woods.
Here is a bunch of brave forayers. Look at the smiles, they don't have a clue about the 4WD climb up the rough road to the top of the hill.
The lower foray was able to drive right up to the start point instead of climbing the short hill as in previous years.
The upper foray located lots of mushrooms including lobster and black trumpets. Lots of boletes were found also.
Back at the truck, every compares finds.
Now that's a big mushroom.
Back at the main foray site, everyone places their finds on the sorting table.
Thea helps by stirring the reheating the sulphur shelf taco filling.
Three different type of mushroom straws were prepared, the standard black trumpet, plus chanterelle straws and blewit straws. Color coded for easy identification.
Just deep fry until GBD.
Beverly helped by steaming Grifola and chicken Dim Sum.
Wendel and Marcy always bring something interesting to the discussion. They also brought Clay some garlic, boy is their garlic good!
Pam even showed up to the foray! News must be getting around.
Yo Gill.
Yo Richard.
Yo Roger. Gee is everyone looking a little miffed by the paveratzi!
Clay had a big pot of chili going to warm folks up. In addition to what Clay made others brought food to share. Dan and Barb brought coffee and cookies for breakfast.
